  • I am in favor of Kala Bagh dam but honestly.

Have anyone heard about this poll before?

  • the poll was published in The Nation today as well. Everyone i know personally is in favour and today (surprisingly) Salman Taseer issued a statement in its favours

people who are against it include MQM, ANP, Waderas, Jageedars and their 'followers'

A link as reference is a requirement and certainly a better option than a mere mention of the source, in case the contents of your post are not of your own effort.

  • how many people from sindh and Kyber Pak put their opinions in referendum ?

Biggest problem with Kala Bagh dam is "trust" between Punjab and other provinces, how much work has done to build this trust level?

  • 'Loha garam hai', now is the time when the nation can be persuaded to agree on building dams.

  • HF,

    Well said!

We have been neglecting this life saving thing for eternity! Time is ripe that we take our lesson (floods) seriously and just do it.

  • HF

"'Loha garam hai', now is the time when the nation can be persuaded to agree on building dams

Translation: "Ah, so let us use "flood" as a cover..."

Ah, what a symbol of honesty you are ;-)

Sorry but no one is sleeping. Ain't gonna work no matter "loha kitna he garam ho"

Of course the "99%" figure is complete fabrication (might be true in Punjab but the opposite in other three provinces) as well and goes once again to confirm Punjab will try any lie, an trickery.

Go for it. "Just do it" -- let's see if you can roll over that "1%"

    :)

    @expakistani

"how many people from sindh and Kyber Pak put their opinions in referendum ?

Biggest problem with Kala Bagh dam is "trust" between Punjab and other provinces, how much work has done to build this trust level?"

Of course this figure is fakery and confirms the suspicions of other provinces. And remember this was tried earlier by when PM made the ridiculous statement (being repeated here) that "If we had Kalabagh, we would have had no floods". The other provinces REJECTED it then too and will again. BTW: It is discussed in detail in the "Floods..." thread but briefly, if Kalabagh was there -- and EMPTY -- even then it could have held at most 6% of the water from these floods. 94% of it would still be free to roam around.

  • Our experts from other provinces were sleeping when the feasibility and planning of this big project was done?

How many dollars of our sweat and blood earned tax money was wasted on this feasibility and planning stage?

  • The thing is that KalaBagh dam is NOT the ONLY solution for Pakistan but their are so many...The reason behind to much focus of KalaBagh dam is its COMMERCIAL GAINS which could be Huge for companies who would Built this dam as Large amount of Electricity will be generated along with Control of Water distribution and another reason why people are going against it is because this could create a Monopoly of a Province over Water distribution while their is another issue of ROYALTY also involved in that as Federation arent Paying ROYALTY to KPK for Mangla Dam so how can they trust that they will pay Royalty of another bigger dam then mangla itself...

  • Technically nothing wrong!

Trust deficit the only reason to reject such project of national interest. Good! Love my folks!

  • For Nawa-i-Waqt Group referendum...Every one knows, this Group is pro-KBD from the beginning so i am not surprised on the managed result of so-called referendum.

Plz tell us province-wise, how many people voted in favour of KBD in Punjab. In fact all voters must be belonging to Punjab!

Three out of total four provincial Assemblies have passed 10 resolutions against Kalabagh dam in Punjab. Is it not referendum? But you think what Punjab says is always right and rest three provinces whatever say it is always wrong.

    What a hypocrisy!!

  • @M K Sial

Nawa-e-Waqt is very well known as "Voice of Establishment" in media circle and they are only good for selling CHEAP conspiracy Theories...In other provinces this news paper has not much Value and also very few readers but in Punjab it has the largest reader among all over Pakistan cause we have found most people promoting Conspiracy Theories from Punjab instead of somewhere else like Imran Khan(Punjab Resident), Hamid Gull, Zaid hamid etc...
