Divisions within PTI?

In the context of media relations reportedly Dr Fozia Sadiq one of PTI’s senior party activists and research scholar recently wrote to Imran Khan several times, but he did not reply her back which is very rude, unprofessional as well as arrogant? If Mr Khan like British ponds and dollars for his projects than he should have courtesy to respect the one who are fighting his corner abroad.

Dr Fozia Sadiq was only asking about the role, party position and relationship of Ms Rabia Zia with the PTI. Ms Zia has been an active member of PTI but reportedly got into friction with an international news channel in London. We don’t know the reasons of last minute cancellation of the pre arranged interview of Imran Khan with Iranian news channel. All we know is that Ms Zia cancelled it last minute and poor producer got very upset. Imran Khan stays in the annexe of Lady Annabel widow of Sir James Goldsmith a member of respected Jewish and pro Israeli family. Imran Khan probably did not want to upset his host by inviting an Iranian TV crew to her house? I called and left a message to get Ms Zia’s perspective but did not receive any reply.

  • It seems like 'Yahoodi susral wale' came in between IK and Miss Rabia Zia.

  • Dr Shahid Qureshi has uncovered some outstanding issues along with solutions. To understand all this I am posting the whole article:

Imran Khan’s future in ‘Crystal Ball’

    By Dr Shahid Qureshi

There is a speculation as well as uncertainty about the future of Imran Khan in Pakistani politics. People trust him with money but would they give him vote is a crucial question. It depends on the people around him. He is competing against the worst crooks and cons in the world some of them has the history of selling themselves to the highest bidders both foreigners and local.

Pakistani politicians have started their ‘dirty campaign’ against Imran Khan. The most important challenge and question for Mr Khan is how he is going to handle this nasty campaign? We all live and learn don’t we? As far as Mr Khan is concerned people are not sure if he has or still going through a learning curve? Some one said, ‘to fight this nasty campaign Mr Khan need to keep his pants and sleeves up’. I don’t know him personally but met him twice and have one phone conversation in the past three years. But I do know people who know him well. He has a common friend in London who is currently servicing former dictator General Perevez Musharaf.

No doubt Imran Khan gets media coverage in the UK and elsewhere for various reasons. Pakistani media does give him more time and bit lenient too. Politicians always handle media with care as a small mistake or mishandling could gravely damage long term.

Few years ago a senior political analyst and friend asked me to see him and forwarded me an email from Hennery Jackson Society, a right wing think tank, which was doing a program in the Houses of Commons on War on Terror. I attended the program asked him a short question of which he gave a long answer. His long answers to short questions clearly depicted that he is not been briefed and/or don’t have a good media and research teams, and even if he got a research team Mr Khan is not reading himself and/or paying attention. Probably he thinks ‘Imran Khan’ brand is enough to sell in politics. It could be true for the people around him who are selling him as a ‘brand’ but it does not work like that in real politics.

What Imran Khan really need is good paid professional media and research teams which brief him and other core members everyday. He needs to learn the skill of how to give short answers to the long questions without missing the point.

I do hear about his frequent visits to London and meetings with only ‘chosen ones’ at his former mother in law Lady Annabel’s annexe in Richmond. During one of these visits two of his party activists Dr Naveeed and Ahmad Raza Chohan went to see him at his former mother in law’s residence and ‘quite rudely’ took the liberty and went to his private room. Obviously Mr Khan got furious and kicked them out of the house. After this incident they told other party members that, ‘Mr Khan insulted them in front of Ms Rabia Zia, her sister Sobia Zia and a businessman’. It was probably an inner core meeting which these gentlemen have gate crashed?

While talking to the writer Dr Naveed denied that any such incident took place while Ahmad Raza Chohan was more honest and admitted his mistake of turning up without prior appointment, going into private section and barging into the meeting.

I think apology of Mr Chohan is reasonable in the circumstances. However, if Imran Khan is using his former mother in law’s annexe as party meeting point and/or conducting party meetings, he should sign post areas in question ‘as private’ so people don’t go into his bed room. These two PTI activists are very well educated people and must have taken the liberty seeing a precedent as if they can do it so can we.

I have been to No: 10 Downing Street, the official residence of the British Prime Minister many times and have seen that on each floor a member of staff guiding the visitors so people don’t wonder around or get lost.

Imran Khan is no exception in having a typical Pakistani politician’s mentality or could it be people’s fault as they go too far in their hospitality? A typical Pakistani politician will always arrive late in the meeting, some times hours and expect every one to visit him where ever he is and also provide pick and drop taxi service to him.

These attitudes need to change. It is true that people trust Imran Khan with their money and give charity to his projects. But what about people who are running their own projects under the shadow of Imran Khan and could have been involved in some kind of financial corruption?

Imran Khan’s PTI in UK is not exception and/or immune to groupings within the party. Though PTI have large number of young professionals and educated members but most of them don’t know anything about their party policies and its infrastructure. PTI UK’s founding members like Shahid Dastgir Khan and other are either sidelined or probably they have excused themselves. There is no elected body of PTI exists in UK and some people are running it like a family business? No one knows when PTI UK is going to have elections within the party and how long the election process will last?

PTI in the UK is divided into many groups and sub groups. Some of the members feel that Imran Khan has been either hijacked or being blackmailed by a group planted by Karachi Mafia.

They are obviously trained cons and been part of the so called corrupt elite of Pakistan, which Mr Khan is finding difficult to get rid off. He was good at this in the past but it seems now some one else is holding his ‘crystal ball’ and future.

  • According to London Post "Imran Khan stays in the annexe of Lady Annabel widow of Sir James Goldsmith a member of respected Jewish and pro Israeli family"

Is it not shameful for our respected and principled politician IK to stay in the house of his ex in-laws jews house? Why ptian do not collect “Chanda” so that their leader could afford to stay in a dignified way in a hotel. Let's see what ptian give justification for their idol’s double standard and munafiqana behavior.

  • @HAQKIAWAZ

bahi sahib...no hotel in London can perhaps match the comfort of a jewish billionaires mansion....and that in surrey far away from local poor pakistani awaam of east london.

apart from that there may be additional freebies thrown in for the former playboy of London!

  • @1lhr

Bitter but true. Khan sb always gives the bhasan of morality, ethics. He always asks the people to stand against America and his allies. But see the other side of the coin.

  • @HAQKIAWAZ

this means that there is no diff between Amir Liaqat and IK as AL also gives bhashans of ethics and morality and ..........

this simply proves that IKs bhashans are no more than an election propoganda

    http://pkpolitics.com/discuss/topic/fake-scholar-aamir-liaqat

  • @1lhr

In our religion and culture, no one stays in the house of ex in-laws once the marriage is over. This is extreme baysharmee and begharatee that our so called principled politician has to stay in his ex in-laws house in London. Who knows he might be still enjoying the relationship of a married person if he is staying in his ex wife house.

  • Notice something y'all, this thread is yet to be graced by a fan club member.

  • he he he

PTI mein rift aaye gi hi.

sub hassad jo kartay hain PTI se.

PPP ho yah PMLN , MQM ho yah ANP.

    sab kaanptay hain PTI se.

aur issi khof ko dour karnay kay liye aapas mein logon ko larwanye kay liye koshaan hain.

  • The nooners have found something else to malign Imran khan.

Originally when i read this post, for some reason I felt slightly uneasy. I looked up who Dr Shahid Qureshi is, and after a while I decided to post my thoughts.

    So here it goes.........

    (1) If we are to agree what Dr saab has said, then we all must agree on

"He is competing against the worst crooks and cons in the world some of them has the history of selling themselves to the highest bidders both foreigners and local".

I am sure he is referring to PPP, PML N and MQM.

    (2) concerning the point he made concerning IK on learning curve, i disagree with him, he has been in politics for 15 years and he knows very well what has to be done. The polls suggest that he is the most popular politician in the country, he must have done something right to achieve this. Also from looking at the polls his rivals put together have not been able to beat IK. Dr saab has failed to point out the awareness amongst people in Pakistan due to mainly media and failure of hukumat. Which as a result is affecting them in there daily lives. Politics is a common talking point in families nowadays.

    (3) The point he made about long answers, again i do not agree with. I do not find his answers long, he is to the point. Maybe in previous years it may be true, I do not know. However Dr saab needs to watch his media apperances in the last few years, then he needs to comment.

    (4) Imran Khan meets hundreds of people in weekly basis, he is a very busy man, at times u do get pissed off, it is human nature. Many times we get pissed off on this forum, husbund and wife argue and get upset. What I do not understand is why Dr saab had to mention Dr Naveeed and Ahmad Raza Chohan for, and then he tells us a story about 10 downing street. If they gatecrashed and IK had a go at them, so be it. Concerning Dr Fozia Sadiq if it is true then IK should e-mail her back, however what was the point of him mentioning this. IK most probably has had e-mailed to sister Fozia and others numerous times.

Unless Dr saab is trying to say that IK has to please everybody in the world, he is no angel.

    (5) Concerning media he is on there every other day, apart from his dharna's which media for some reason does not pay to much attention, compared to other political party jalsa's. What I would like is dharna's to be shown more in media stations, that is something lacking, otherwise everything is fine. Where there should be improvements is better quality of recording from members of his party. The point he made that media is easy on him, I disagree. There ask most of the questions that run around these forum's. This is the media that labelled him Taliban Khan, and then backtracked, they mention points on ISI agent, they mention points on his children, they mention points on Sita White. I do not know what else media should be asking him. Compared to other political leaders who hide in there palaces.

    (6) Concerning his marriage to jemima and mother in law etc. Personally I think he was wrong to marry jemima, I would have liked him to marry a muslim women from Pakistan. However this is a stain on IK, his affairs that he had previously and marriage to jemima. Him going to his mother in law house and living there is also something i do not like.

But then I look at myself and others and say who are we to complain on this, what do we do that so great. Do we respect women, or do we look down when speaking to a women, before we comment on others we should look deep into ourselves. Concerning the point IK has a relationship with jemima is uncalled for, to suggest he has a sexual relationship with her. As for his children I hope Allah protects them and are brought up as muslims.

But IK family life has not worked out the way it should, it is a stain on him when you look at it from a biographical way.

" what allures man the most is women"

    (5) concerning the point on financial corruption, Dr saab needs to bring some evidence to light, before making these claims. If there are undercover people posing as PTI, then we should try to expose them. As for PTI supporters in UK being unaware of his policies, is totally crap. IK has been ranting on about corruption, drone attacks, paying of taxes, emergency education. Are people in UK deaf, I do not think so, they are aware as much as pakistani citizens are, if not more.

Imran Khan has many faults, so do u dr saab and so do I. But he is the best that we have, and he is good enough to bring a massive positive change to Pakistan.

The main purpose of Dr saab was too malign IK, not to benefit him. However some good things have come out of this. Reply to the e-mail to sister fozia if not done so, and the other two kicked out, cud make amends if required. I do not know whether information travelling from pk to uk needs improvement or not.

Have faith in Allah not a crystal ball!

  • Personally, I think that for the most part, this article is a storm in a tea-cup. But the response of Imran Bhutto Zardari's "nighters" has really made me laugh.

Seems like these nighters not only lack basic comprehension but also have an acumen of a 10 year old. No wonder their circus is a net sensation but a flop in real world.

  • @adonis

Polls suggest very clearly that it is a hit in the real world.

  • ROFL ....

Polls conducted by you gov online .............

BTW, in no poll, even in no on-line poll, has any question ever been asked about whether people will vote for PTI. But I guess nighters prefer to keep living in their fantasies, because .... REALITY BITES !!!!

  • Was the net club even big enough for division to take place?

  • I'm getting the impression (hopefully its not wishful thinking) that the PTI popularity and effectiveness graph has become downward sloping after reaching its peak and people supporting Imran Khan are worried.

One of my relatives has PTI connections and informed me that according to those connections not all is well within the party and that the "its all good" stuff we hear on TV channels not an accurate representation of reality, i.e., there is an element of facade in it.

  • "To all PTI followers, esp youth, we need to increase membership drive - please move on emergency footing to add more members!" -- (imrankhanpti Twitter on 5 May 2012)

"Membership drive needs to pick up so we can have a truly representative party election! I want the youth to energise their membership drive!" -- (imrankhanpti Twitter on 17 May 2012)

So, a "truly" representative party election is mentioned. Its still early days yet but you never know, this could head towards U-turnesque anti-climax if what he stated is true.

By the way did PTI extend the deadline from 31 May to 30 June. Please confirm.
