  • God save the king!!!!!!

    :)

  • @EasyGo

You crack me up with your one liners ...... LOLzzz ... "Is dish ki tasveer say tu pata chalta hai ke Pehlay kaise Haizay say bachte rahaiN hongay "

  • A better picture of the Dish Sobat :

  • Dera Ismail Khan's traditional dish "Sobat" is primarily made with pieces of thin chapati (like napkins) with chunks of meat on the top spread in a large tray. The incidents are soaked in gravy just in time before serving. In most cases people eat in groups from the same dish (praat). No doubt it is one of the tastiest delights you can have in that part of Pakistan.

Mostly the food poisoning occurs due to the lack of hand washing rather than the quality of the ingredients. Probability of food poisoning or viral infection from the dish in first picture is lower than the second picture. In the first picture all ingredients are cooked while the 2nd picture has onions, tomato and cucumbers. The raw vegetables are usually washed with the local water that has micro-organism. There are areas around Dera where a goat and a man drink from the same pond.

  • A Surprise and a treat with Sobat:

I was with a group of college student in Dera long time ago. One day our host said, “We will enjoy Sobat tomorrow night”. When we adjourned from our host that evening, the fellow students became inquisitive with what our host had said. Not familiar with the term some student interpreted it as “Sohbat” (صحبت)and not “Sobat” (ثوبت). Our host deliberately uttered the word “enjoy” instead of saying that we would eat or be served with Sobat. Being close to an area notorious of masculine Haram, you can imagine what our late night discussions were. Some student even started thinking of leaving the next morning.

But the next evening, when our host served us with a delightful dish and told the name of it. We were pleasantly surprised and off course, relieved.
