  • Is a woman straddling on a motorcycle a public indecency? I suppose it might be an issue in cultures where two legged trousers are not norms but would this apply to Pakistan where majority of women wear Shalwar? Can there be an exception to rule in the name of safety? Can Muslims engineers design their own motorcycles which accommodate women with safety in mind?

    :)

  • @azizi Saab

"Can Muslims engineers design their own motorcycles which accommodate women with safety in mind? "

Or how about don't pay attention to illiterate mullahs who instead of contributing towards economic plights of masses sell shariah as magic pill to every problem.

    :)

  • Not a big deal

Every country has its own culture and norms

  • Or how about don't pay attention to illiterate mullahs who instead of contributing towards economic plights of masses sell shariah as magic pill to every problem.

  • what about women riding a bicycle. It will be really interesting to see a girl riding a bicycle with her both legs on on side. The issue will be which leg should kick the pedal and which one should hang in air. But then these mullah will object that a hanging leg further aggravates their wild dreams even wetter. I will ask my fellow bloggers to give their opinion on this issue. BTW when Syeda Aisha (RA) used to fight wars on horse/camel back, what was her sunnah? any mullah is welcome to comment.

  • What backward things these molvis will do in the name of imposing their shariat? Why women are target of every backward thing? Why women have to go through all acts of stupidity and backwardness; why NOT men? Why women face all acts of stupidity?

In my view, scooters are great for both men and women to use for their daily use saving petrol and helping traffic congestion and environment.

I feel sorry for women of Aceh Province of Indonesia.

May God save Muslims and the rest of the world from these fasadi molvis.

  • @zingaro

    Good point made by you.

Fasad and molvis are 2 sides of a coin.

  • I observed about the rural areas Punjab that women thereupon have to straddle upon motorcycles in horse riding style due to tiresome traveling over long distances. It is not possible for a woman to travel over long distances with side-wise sitting

  • I do not think there is indecency if the rider is facing otherside. But maulanas have other ideas, they bring sharia (or perhaps hedith). Woman is allowed to widen their limbs only in their house before their legitimate husband that too in pitch dark. Correct me if I am wrong.

  • I remember about Late Dr. Israr Ahmed. He passed a fatwa against women watching a cricket match. He told that a bowler rubs his cricket ball at such a place whereupon the sight of a woman is haram. ha ha ha! Prior to Dr.Israr's fatwa, nobody cared to observe where a bowler rubbs his cricket ball.

  • Why can't these molvis look the other way when they see a woman with legs on both sides? You know, "Nazroon ki Hifazat".

  • Allama Jahil raised a very good point.

How did women ride horses at the time of the Prophet?
