Minhaj ul Quran or Qadri & sons ....

  • all NGO are required to hold officer election such as Treasure, VP, Pres and Secretary but as far as the Board is concerned, the board members can vote each other in or out depending on their by-laws and nonprofit laws of the country it is registered in.

Technically, he has a strong board which will not take him out, but the clause that he is the supreme power and he can veto anyone just doesnt cut it specially when he speaks about democracy and againt maroosi siyasat. His board should have had a couple of ppl who supported him from his family but not the Entire Family!!...because Boards are supposed to be neutral and over seeing authority over an NGO..without any conflict of interest.

Second important point is the articles he has..such inter faith dialogue and anti drug abuse crap..etc what does minhajul quran have to do with that. This is nothing but to secure funding from government and private grants in the name of interfaith dialogue/drug abuse..and thirdly its a legitimate way of laundering money into his organization from foreign govt and private individuals.

  • Seems like someone stepped on Qadri's tail by going after financial records of Minhaj. Their website is down: http://www.minhaj.org

Minhaj should have audited financial statements, annual reports available on their website which they didn't so they probably took the website down. They might be scrambling to put something together right now as financial statements and annual reports.

Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz (2 November 682(26th Safar, 63 Hijri) – 31 January 720(16th Rajab, 101 Hijri)) [1] (Arabic: عمر بن عبد العزيز‎) was an Umayyad caliph who ruled from 717 to 720. He was also a cousin of the former caliph, being the son of Abd al-Malik's younger brother, Abd al-Aziz. He was also a great-grandson of the companion of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad, Umar ibn Al-Khattab.

  • and now individuals from foreign countries are also questioning our beolved SheikhulIslam's titles

Al-Azhar University scholars in Cairo, Egypt, exposed Tahir Qadri as a fraud, multiple exposés have been posted regarding Mr Muhammad Tahir, who has given himself the title “Sheikh-ul-Islam” and conferred upon himself the alias of “Tahir-ul-Qadri”, having spent a great deal of time, money, and effort promoting himself under the aforementioned title. He has managed to deceive many Muslims who are ill-informed of his background and have been deceived by the media glitz & glamour of his paid advertising published on the Internet.

First of all I am not against inhertance in politics. If Actors son can be actor, Professional player's son can be professional player, Doctor's son can be doctor, lawyer's son can be lawyer, businessman's son can be businessman as long as they follow the procedure and live by same set of rules that are for everyone else. Why different standard for Politician's son?

Secondly they are just 71 years apart,(634-644) & (717-720) it's like Jinnah's great grand son beomes our next PM.

  • just get the record straight, Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz did not inherit - infact he was appointed out of need. The Khalifa of that time did not appoint his own son because they were out on war and did not know if he would survive or not. This was a much needed change anyways because Umar bin Abdul Aziz was the best and pios of all Ummayad dynasty - who brought back the Sunnah of the prophet back into pratice and governance. The khalifa infact appointed Umar Bin Abdul Aziz as next khalifa, and then appointed his Son who would become Khalifa After Abdul Aziz.

Anyways. There is no Khilafat now. Inheritance doesnt work because we have seen in our history that Inheritance only led to more divisions and chaos because it leaves more worthy out of equation...

An interesting thing I found out while skimming through the article among the reforms od Umar bin Aziz ...

The Umayyad tradition of cursing Ali was performed in state-controlled mosques for a period of approximately 65 years from c.657 to c.717 CE.
The early Umayyads began the custom of including a curse against Ali from the pulpit in Damascus. The practise was decisively ended by a latter Umayyad, Umar Bin Abdul Aziz. The origins of this aberrant practise were in the political dispute between Muawiyyah and Ali over the latter's perceived lack of seriousness in pursuing the killers of the third Caliph of Islam, and son-in-law of the Prophet Muhammad, Uthmaan. Whilst the motivations of the battle are hotly disputed between sunni and shiite Muslims, the tension culminated in what was the first civil war in Islam - the battle of Siffin which is universally regarded by Muslims as an unmitigated tragedy.
Umar bin Abdul Aziz (Umar II), put an end to the practice.[1] Both Sunni and Shiite Muslims alike regard the cursing of Ali as an abhorrent act and heinous sin. Umar Bin Abdul Aziz, held in the highest esteem amongst Sunni Muslims, replaced the cursing of Ali on the Minbar during Friday prayers with the verse from the Qur'an: “Verily, Allah enjoins justice and good deeds, and giving (help) to kith and kin, and forbids evil acts, and disbelief, and all kinds of oppression."(16:90)

No wonder Shias these days curse first three calipahs. It seems like religious tradition. Also, why we complain Zardari didn't unearth BB's assassins? He is just following the footsteps of Ali who decided not to go after assassins of his predecessor Usman.
