HAS DUBAI PROPERTY OF SHAHID LATIF WHO IN TALK SHOWS SAYS PEOPLE SHOULD INVEST IN PAKISTAN, HAS AN IQAMA?

  • In his talk show 23 November 2017, well known anchor Rauf Klasra read out a long list, he titled “Dubai Leaks” of people having properties in Dubai. Coming to the name of Shahid Latif, Rauf said that Shahid Latif claims that he purchased the properties (perhaps two if memories of this senior citizen are not failing him in this age) on behalf of his son-in-law who was a Doctor abroad.

    1. Since surfacing of Iqama of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Iqama appears to has become since then a favorite topic. Many Iqamas since then have surfaced. Rauf had only a day earlier revealed another Iqama of our one Minister employed in Dubai as a “Driver”. This “Driver” has four wives in Pakistan each having cars like Jaguar, 18 children including of course under investigation cases. Rauf, however, while once again touching his favourite “Dubai Leaks”, numerating name of Shahid Latif did not touch if Shahid also held any Iqama or not. And if he holds, then what was his Dubai employment? One can’t open a Bank Account in Switzerland or in Dubai or purchase a property if he did don’t had a valid Iqama of Dubai or of elsewhere. And an Iqama is given only and only to an expatriate legally employed in Dubai (or for that purpose in Kuwait or Bahrain) or to a bona fide member of the family (wife, children and in rare cases father/mother) of a legal employee. And of course to those who invest heavily. Shahid can’t purchase any property, in his own or in the name of his son-in-law without first having a valid UAE Iqama endorsed on his Pakistani Passport. Why Rauf has not carried this information? It is mystery!
