Shujaat Hussain sets up relief fund for Swat’s IDPs

  • LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Shujaat Hussain has announced to set up a PML Relief Fund with an initial contribution of Rs 1 million, for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Swat and Malakand.

    The relief camp has been set up at the PML-Q’s central office in Islamabad. In a statement issued here on Friday, Shujaat urged party members and philanthropists to contribute generously for the noble cause. He said the relief fund was aimed at providing immediate help to the IDPs who had been forced to leave their homes because of the security forces’ operations against the Taliban in the region. Shujaat expressed deep concern over the prevailing situation in Swat and condemned the Taliban who had forced 600,000 people to flee to various parts of the country. app
